The Faculty
Enderun’s faculty is composed of a group of individuals diverse in their cultural backgrounds, academic credentials, and professional qualifications in their respective industries.

LANCE A. MASTERS, PhD, CME
Dr. Masters is Enderun Colleges’ Provost, responsible for all aspects of the academic programs in International Hospitality Management and Business Administration.
After earning his BA in Economics with honors from University of California, Riverside, he took his MBA in Finance and Marketing from California State University, San Bernardino. He then finished his MA in Management at the Claremont Graduate University, where he also earned his PhD in Executive Management from Peter Drucker, writer and academic widely considered as the “father of modern management.”
He has extensive experience in both higher education and industry. Before his distinguished academic career, he gained experience as vice president of marketing for Butcher Boy Food Products (now Windsor Foods), market planning manager and economist for Fleetwood Enterprises, western regional manager for Arby’s and restaurant group manager for Dick Clark Enterprises.
Dr. Masters has been in the academe for more than twenty years, serving as professor, department head and dean of several universities in California. He was president of Pennsylvania’s Thiel College for almost nine years.

EDGARDO RODRIGUEZ, PhD
Mr. Edgardo Rodriguez is Dean of the College of Business. He earned his MBA in The East-West Center at the University of Hawaii, and his PhD in Management Sciences and Statistics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York. He was also part of the Special Program in Development Economics at Harvard University. He worked in The World Bank in Washington, D.C., culminating a career there as head of the bank’s Corporate Budget Unit. He then worked as a management specialist at the Asian Development Bank in Manila and retired as executive secretary to the Development Effectiveness Committee of the Board of Directors. While growing in his corporate career, he also taught for fourteen years at graduate schools in the United States, as associate professor at Graduate School of Industrial Engineering of Rutgers University in New Jersey, then as adjunct professor of Management and Information Sciences at The American University in Washington, D.C., and at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Virginia. He is currently president of XenXaTech, Inc., a management consulting firm specializing in business intelligence systems.

ROBERT STAVELEY BOUMPHREY, MA
Mr. Boumphrey teaches World History, and is Enderun’s lead faculty for Economics. An Australian national, he graduated with an AB in Economics and Sociology (Honours class) from Durham University in the United Kingdom and obtained his MA in Economics from Simon Fraser University in Canada. Mr. Boumphrey has lived in the Philippines for more than 25 years and was formerly director for Governance, Finance and Trade in the Mekong Regional Department of the Asian Development Bank, where he was responsible for administering loans and support for encouraging investment and creating an environment favorable to the private sector investment in the region.

JAMES CLARKSON, PhD
World History and Cultural Anthropology faculty James Clarkson earned his undergraduate, Master’s and Doctorate at the University of Chicago, and has taught at the Universities of Michigan and Hawaii over the course of 15 years (1966-1981). In between teaching assignments, Dr. Clarkson also conducted undergraduate and graduate lectures, supervised thesis and dissertation writing in Southeast Asian Studies and Geography, and acted as outside panel for the departments of Anthropology, History, and Education. From 1983 to 2000, he did consulting work on economic development in countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. An avid scholar, Dr. Clarkson has earned a Certificate in Business Administration from Warwick University (UK) and has completed two years of online law studies with Concord University in the United States.

JOVEL BERNARDO CUARESMA, PhD
Dr. Cuaresma handles classes in Accounting, Financial Management, Business Math and Total Quality Management. He obtained his PhD in Management from the International Academy of Management and Economics (IAME), MBA from the Ateneo Graduate School of Management and BS in Management Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila Loyola Schools. He has done various management consultancies for private corporations, government agencies, and non-government organizations, on various functional areas such as human resource, community development, investment management, business strategy, marketing, financial management, and information technology. Dr. Cuaresma has also taught at the Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College, IAME, Warnborough University (London), and the Entrepreneurship Institute of Australia, both for undergraduate and post-graduate levels. He is the club moderator of Recordatio.

MARTHA GOEBEL, MS
Ms. Martha Goebel is Enderun’s faculty for General Psychology. She earned her degree, magna cum laude, in that discipline from Liberty University in Virginia, USA in 1996. She has since done research on aging and the elderly, and finished her Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Relations at the University of Connecticut in 1999. From 2000 to 2005, Martha handled various functions at the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries in Makati City, from teaching social science courses to counseling and providing career development advice.
