Academic Support for Young Learners is specially designed to establish the English language in a fun and interactive way. This program serves as a training ground for the participants to develop their five macro skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing.
The program aims to strengthen the participants’ English skills at an early stage with the end-goal of achieving success in using English in a wide variety of academic and social contexts. The participants’ foundations of the language will be honed and strengthened through instructional scaffolding.
The participants are expected to:
- express thoughts and feelings through writing;
- develop healthy reading habits and techniques;
- ask and answer personal and relevant questions; and
- communicate confidently and effectively with peers and adults.
