Sometimes, what you want from your wine…is a punch in the face. Here’s a chance to explore some of the boldest, darkest, inkiest, and most tannic red wines that are available in the city. Beyond just tasting, this masterclass will invite you to look behind the label and explore the climate and geology of the region, as well as cultural aspect of the wine style, i.e. typicity and stylistic character, to deepen your understanding of what is in the glass.
The 5-wine tasting flight will be selected from a list of less popular but readily available wine varietals such as Malbec, Mourvèdre/Monastrell, Pinotage, Tannat, Touriga Nacional, Nero D’Avola among others. Designed for wine students looking to re-calibrate their palate, this class is also a good introduction for wine enthusiasts looking to move on from their usual Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and try unfamiliar wines.
WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits or equivalent is beneficial, but not required
